I see that we have a list of the great matte painters started in another thread, so I thought I'd start another:

What are your favourite examples of matte painting, i.e. Your favourite films/ TV shows or maybe even music videos or commercials, featuring great examples of matte painting?

I look forward to hearing what you think.

1 the dockingbay with the millenium falcon on the left lower side and a
Tydirium Shuttle on the right side. some people working on A-Wings.
This is the best one ive ever seen, especialy in terms of matte lines
Peoples coming out (or in ) from under the falcon working on the A-wing etc..
A very clever use of a matte painting
damn i cant remember if its in"return of a jedi or "empire strikes back"
but its a michael pangrazio painting.

2 all the mates for the "city of the lost children" they are astounding, great framing, i cant find them anymore over the net but they are a must to see (all done by jean marie vives) if someone got a link it wil be apreciate

3 the ending shot of "raiders of the lost arch", the one with this huge warehouse full of crates, and the little guy in the center of the frame.
