HOW TO PAINT LANDSCAPE
Hi,
is there any tutorial about digital painting of Landscapes, hills, mountains or rocks (photoshop). I founded some on www.cgarena.com but it's not look real and don'n have many details which makes matte painting cool. Thanks for any help. |
Go with Dylan Cole's "Introduction to Landscape Matte painting" :) Great DVD. You can watch short samples directly over at thegnomonworkshop.com :)

Thanks Xdreamer79,
and what about some web tutorials, books or magazines? |
Any basic painting book would do. The same rules of light and colour apply to pixels as well as oils..
|
Yep, if you are good at watercolour, acrylic or oils then you got a good headstart against people who are not familiar with any other art medium :)
I also highly recommend Dylan Coles dvds, I have them all and they are top notch! Never watched any dvd so many times! Good recommendation xdreamer! Nick |
Dylan Cole's Introduction to Landscape Matte Painting is Great. Thank you.
It think the best way to do great matte painting is still try after try, image after image |

In time it will become second nature when you do your digital paintings sketches...you just ' Know ' where to put those colors. But I'm a guy who preaches references...I'm not saying to become a slave to your references but if you don't know how to ...paint a winter scene in the mountains for exemple...well by all means take the time to search some good references and learn from it. Besides...you're building a reference library at the same time so it can't hurt.:) In the end you just have to practice, practice, practice :) |
i give you a link about this http://www.3dvf.com/modules/publish/Tut ... 794_1.html
