cintique 21' coming in march..could it be good for dmp?
What do you think? Any pros consider using this for creating digital matte paintings?
i'm looking for a new large monitor...so i'm pondering wether or not this would really be good. http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/peripher ... nel-033025 Or this... http://www.apple.com/displays/ or even this! http://www1.us.dell.com/content/topics/ ... l=en&s=dhs this one claims to be better than apples displays.. http://www.formac.com/p_bin/?cid=soluti ... ery2010_01 What do you guys think? I'm sooo confused. +smooth+ |
I tried the Cintiqs at their Siggraph booth and experienced how the brush stroke is actually almost always lagging behind the pen. This happens also when you are painting on a tablet, but there you don't notice it, since the tool is separated from the working surface. If you can live with that, the benefit of knowing exactly where a super small brush cursor is, and the possibility of turning the tablet around, are very convenient. I personally don't like it, and decided to wait for the time, when the delays belong to the past. Also, if you work on a 23" or 30" monitor, then even the size of the bigger Cintiq seems small.

The Cintiqs never made any sense to me because I don't
have any eye-hand coordination issues from looking at the monitor and having my pen working elsewhere. But those new 30 inch LCD displays from Apple.....WOOF. |
dont bother, i had the 15' one and all it is good for was linework. it lags, color accuracy is crap and having your arm cover half the painting seems pointless when with a normal wacom you can see the whole image on screen. i would not even atempt to do serious photoshop work on it.

thanks kev. I think i'll get myself a new lcd display from apple instead. I didn't think a cintiq would be advantageous.
the recent esuvee from framestore is amazing! i'd like to see your mattes. Do u have a website? +smooth+ |
