glass painting gone wrong
It started as a landscape on glass that I was drying under heat lamps.
now its a jigsaw pizzle you can cut yourself with. on the plus side, the paint was dry... FML http://www.robblauser.com/online_mat...lass_crack.jpg |
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Oh man. I was just discussing this with another matte painter. I thought it would be a good idea for me to learn traditional painting on glass... Rob, that ROYALLY sucks man. Thanks for sharing though! |
Hey, Rob! Great idea!
Thanks, man! |
You could always try super-detailing a small section, perhaps the piece on the left and you could then make a new shot out of that for fun. The painting is looking good, I especially like the background rocks!

Ah, I feel your pain. Had a few things I remember vividly go wrong like that, I just count it as the best practice ever and move on.
This could however turn into an interesting optical compositing challenge... but probably one your not keen on attempting. I like the idea of super detailing one of them and turning it into it's own composition. Worst case you got some excellent practice. And that totally counts. -- Kevin |
a number of people actually suggested finishing the painting and presenting it as a "shattered landscape." haven't ruled that out yet, but for now I'm repainting it on a fresh sheet of glass.
