New Matte Work
Hey everyone,
It's been awhile since I've finished a personal project. Here it is: http://th06.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/...10-d4hmrj4.jpg Thanks for looking, Jadrien |
Subtle, but very convincing. It took me a while to spot that you'd replaced the trees in the bottom left corner. Nicely done.

Yup.
Simple, clean, everything works. I like :) -- Kevin |
Agreed, lovely stuff, very subtle and the formations are designed in a very natural looking way.

Alex, Kevin, Nick - thank you!
Alex, I was worried about the lower left-hand trees, so I'm happy you said they're working. Thanks again guys. |
all looks good! love these subtle works instead of these in your face shots most digital mattes are

I like it too.
I'm surprised nobody has posted a common comment yet, that this type of work is not challenging enough. In the past I did several matte painting samples that were subtle plate extensions like this and while convincing (as yours is), the feedback I got was that I needed to be more ambitious, while remaining surprisingly successful in the illusion. I always hated hearing that feedback, but I do think it was for the better. Keep it up. |
Very nice job.Subtle and convincing.
