matte Artist -beginer
Hi Im new to matte painting, in the future i intend to produce more matte paintings, and become a digital compositor, and intergrate my matte paintings below is my first matte painting
plate http://evilkitchen.com/matte/1.2-plate.jpg final http://evilkitchen.com/matte/1.2.jpg i would love to hear what you think thanks |
The city in the background has too much black in it. Either change the blacks level to become light grey or loose the city altogether. Everything else looks cool to me. The trick is not be able to do a small mattepainting, the real trick is doing it at 4K, or even at FullHD.
Keep up the good work! |
thanks for the advice, I've altered the levels, also This image is actual size now, I've never used the 2k or 4k sizes before, I will be using these sizes from now on, thanks for the advice

Good effort there Powell, apart from black levels do check your perspective and edges and also it would be a good idea to degrain / denoise your references and original plate before you do the DMP work and when its final apply the noise / grain evenly to the whole DMP or just the layers in comp.
Best, Rahul |
