this is something i would do if i were you... since you already have 3d geos, why not rendering out other layers such as AO, shadow, spec and so forth so that you'd be able to see what it might look...

great job! the temple could be a bit more hazed out so it'd look much further away in distance? it kind of looks like it's right behind the FG hill and it also looks like it is hiding the bottom part...

all different elements are around the center axis of the frame - birds, smoke, castle and the mountain. if it doesn't have to be this way, why not spreading things around so the image could be more...

my eyes go from the FG details to the towers in the BG - i think your composition is working well here personally! the only thing is the smaller tower on the left looks much brighter than the taller...

thanks for the comment - i actually used multiple photos but i agree the crater's not going well with the surroundings. the creater is the diamond head in hawaii. i'll update it next week.

nicely done! it'd be cool to add some lights here and there, i agree with XeNoMyoSIN. the perspective of the left structure catches my eyes, comparing to other bldgs and streets - maybe just me......
