i got my tablet the other day and decided to make my first matte piece lol. Well heres the result:

Also if someone could clarify a few things for me would be nice:

- How do people add all those plants/butanical forms in there work, i mean do they paint it or get it from a photo?

- Also how do people add the textures of natural material like mountains, water etc...to make it look realistic.

Hi Mussy--
My suggestion is that you might like to add something wonderful in the background, like an island or a castle in the sea. As you have it here, it is almost like you have the proscenium arch set, but there is nothing on the stage itself.
As for how you add textures, try using the transfer modes in photoshop. Often if you have your painting blocked in, you can add rock texture, of vegetation, or whatever over the top of the block in using hard light, soft light, or overlay. That way you get the high frequency noise of photography, but you are not limited by what specific photo reference you can find.
