This is a freelance painting I'm working on and would really like cirques on how I can improve the image. original size is 3860x2180
I start in maya by modeling the buildings and laying out the city, I them rendered out several passes ( AO, FG, depth, spec and shadow). Then everything was comped in photoshop and heavy painted over.
Very nice and great town. I have only one remark...looking the first time at your painting I felt a bit stressed by the sky...since the city is visually so "busy", maybe go for a somewhat calmer sky? I have the impression there is some kind of competition between sky and city...I would tone down the details in the sky a bit.
Just my two cents of course.

I agree that a less turbulent sky would help to clarify the scene. Also, if you would obscure the horizon less, so you could see the back mountains a bit, it would make this scene even better. But the city looks great--the perspective dead on.
