Default Invitation - 10-01-2006, 04:13 AM

Made this for an invitation to my house warming party - a la "Come to my house! And bring climbing gear!".

Original is ~3K. Took about three days of after work time. One of the few pieces I have done for fun in recent years. Got some serious flaws of course, like perspective, black level and other issues, but it's a fun piece so I stopped when I had enough ;)

Have at it!

Cheers!

(PS: there's a cow hidden in there! ;) resolution might be too low to spot it tho)
(PSPS: just checked this on another montiro ... hmmm - the painting looks totally lifted ... eek. Will correct that tomorrow)

EDIT: uploaded darker and bluer version - like my supervisor said ;)

I very much like your work. A composition fine, an atmosphere, color and light excellent. It seems strange, that distant mountains are looked very precisely. (the most distant plan especially) .It is probably a little more fog on a background.Though, probably, you have created a place with such fine pure air? :D
super work....... :)

Hey Rick! Thanks - I made it darker and bluer :)

Of course you're invited - a boat is on the way to pick you up!

Thanks Irhen! I think you're totally correct - the mountain on the right has too much detail - could be because I used a very small piece of rock for it. And for the lack of haze - it's probably because I live in New Zealand - the air here is really pristine, haha.

The distant mountains were just done too quickly - didn't break up the edges enough and they're a bit too flat, oh yeah.

Thanks again
