Very impressive work ... and the site layout is really good too.

I really like your animatrix mattes/concepts. Just out of interest, what was your method on these? I was trying to work out what elements might be derived from 3d, photography, painted in.

Great design and I love the details.
I like those old posters too.

I just wanted to know which one of these projects, did you work as matte painter not concept artist?

And as for animatrix, Fantastic.

OMG. amazing textures & detail!
very nice work.
Is most of it done in 3d prior to PS finishing?
What system and monitor do you usually work on?

Hi. I will try to answer most of these questions.
It's difficult to say how I work in a short paragraph. Sometimes I paint on simple 3D block models, I will use photographic elements where appropriate, sometimes, as in Revolutions, I will paint on complex 3D models.
Most Reloaded images are concepts, all Revolutions images are matte paintings, all but one Final Fantasy images are matte paintings. Animatrix images are mostly conceptual but some were re-used as matte paintings.
Sorry, too long for a Forum. Thanks for your interest.

I forgot to add- For "Smooth"
I use a Mac for 2D but a PC for 3D. I have one of those 24" Sony monitors and a 17 flat screen Dell as a pallete monitor.
Bluemilk- Tough question. Iv'e painting professionally for 26 years. For me it was just a natural progression, or path of least resistance. I do prefer film over illustration.
