Show us some more, as it stands this image is a little flat. It looks like it just has a midground and a background, with nothing linking the two and a very flat composition.
You also have two huge areas of shadow competing for your attention.

I'm still learning about composition, so if you have any suggestions to make this better let me know. It's only a sketch, but I'm trying to learn as much as I can.

this was done for the daily sketch group on conceptart.org. the topic was "HUGE BLUE-GREY ANCIENT ALIEN GOD STATUE W/ RED GLOW CRYSTALS ." it's an environment sketch, so i thought it would be appropriate here.
