Any suggestion on what the best plugins are to separate a subject from its background in footage with too much depth of field? This is DV footage shoot with a DVX100 at 25P, with exterior scenes with subjects, too complex to rotoscope and with a lot of camera movement. I guess I need one of those plugins that recognize subtle chrominance differences between the subject and the background to create moving mattes where it's impossible to rotoscope.

Have you looked at Primatte Keyer? or Shake?

For still images I use a program by corel called knock out. its really good.

for combustion doesnt need a plug-in just go into operator that is dop and mark your foreground and background and walla
