Well, it does not really matter much though, of the focal point being located at the center of the frame; it's a safe approach! But, if you could change it a-bit, towards either the left or right side of the frame then, the sketch would look more dynamic! :)

Haha lol; that's a good invention you made btw! :D Your thought is heading in the correct direction; maybe you can add a few mountain ranges in the BG, to create some additional depth! :) You must also show proper light (near the BG) to shadow (towards the foreground region) gradient in your painting; currently, the painting looks a-bit flat due to the absence of any gradient & color variation!
Overall, I like the sketch; it has a-lot of potential in becoming a good-looking concept sketch and, also a Matte-Painting! :) Keep it up! :)
