You could always try super-detailing a small section, perhaps the piece on the left and you could then make a new shot out of that for fun. The painting is looking good, I especially like the background rocks!
Ah, I feel your pain. Had a few things I remember vividly go wrong like that, I just count it as the best practice ever and move on.
This could however turn into an interesting optical compositing challenge... but probably one your not keen on attempting.
I like the idea of super detailing one of them and turning it into it's own composition. Worst case you got some excellent practice. And that totally counts.
a number of people actually suggested finishing the painting and presenting it as a "shattered landscape." haven't ruled that out yet, but for now I'm repainting it on a fresh sheet of glass.
