Default First matte - 02-07-2014, 07:49 AM

HI
Im adrian hobbyist freelancer CGI
Here is my first matte painting, done with several web photos .
I have some basic skills and knowledge of Photoshop and other photomanipulation
but for most time im with 3D only .I know there are a lots of mistakes in this matte .
my thinking of MattePainting is to push it to another level some day.
all suggestions are welcomed. Thank You

Hi adisquo,

It's great that you're trying to get into matte-painting but the first and very important thing you mustn't use any of other matte-painting pieces within your picture! No matter how good and subtle your picture could be done, it's always the worst thing to use other matte-painting elements for your benefits.

I guess since you are a new guy in this area you might not realised that the plate that you have used for this picture is Yanick Dusso's matte-painting (as well as other elements), but for future ones I would recommend stay away from this type of approaches.

As for dmp itself, I would suggest to learn some basics of perspective, colors relationships, composition and so forth before you intend to handle any complicated tasks

Hope it helps
