2012 MATTE PAINTING TD
The R&H Matte Painting TD Apprentice Program is designed to give participants the opportunity to gain valuable experience and the chance to work with a talented group of dedicated professionals in a collaborative, energetic environment. This program is designed to identify candidates who may be suitable for entry-level Matte Painting Technical Director positions in our studio. Ideal participants will be recently graduated artists and technical people with superior skills and potential. Candidates should demonstrate a strong attention to visual detail, and proficiency with 3-D software. Ideal candidates should demonstrate any or all of the following skill-sets: environment modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, scripting, camera work, compositing and texture projections. The role of a Matte Painting TD is to assist the Matte Painters in the technical execution of shot work including projection setup, modeling, debugging, rendering lighting assets and providing cameras.
The current Apprentice Program will be three weeks in duration consisting of two weeks of training, one week on simulated production, and will end with an evaluation. You will work with our best artists and supervisors to learn how we create 3d matte painted environments through a combination of formal classroom instruction and informal collaboration. The program will start on October 29, 2012
While participants may be extended as long-term freelance artists after evaluation, participation in the R&H Matte TD Apprentice Program does not guarantee employment within the company.
This is a paid apprentice program and you will be housed if you are coming from out of the greater Los Angeles area.
